- Fasting (Puasa) - A habit of preventing oneself desires from indulging in the normally 3-course meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner/ brunch and lunner), including drinking or inserting food into one's throat. From Islamic perspective, objects are also not allowed to be inserted to any cavities on the body. Thus, no nose-picking, haha.
- Sahur - A practice of eating as a mean to prepare oneself from the fasting routine that prevents one from eating/drinking at a period from practically daytime until the sun sets. The time changes everyday, with the exception of fast-breaking time increases from year-to-year.
- Breaking Fast (Berbuka) - Not opening, literally, but the practice when Muslims are allowed to eat and drink. Even publicly, of course.
- Tarawih prayers - The prayer that occasionally done only in this particular month. Practiced after the normal daily 5-time prayers are completed, ranging from 8-10 p.m.. This special prayer is said to be special, as it provides the worshippers more "pahala" than usual, x40 as a matter of fact. It's like, replenishing time......
- Breaking-fast Time (Waktu Berbuka) - Occurs during the 4th time of Muslim daily prayers (Maghrib). Changes every day, as it constantly becomes earlier.
As for the food and drinks, it is VERY SUMPTUOUS, I tell you. The other 11-month of the year, which seems dormant with food stall operators, awakens from slumber this particular month. So, if there's any parents of yours who are lazy to cook, just, buy them from the bazaars, of course!!!! Duh. Due to this, the Ramadan month is also known as the "Muslim Mega Sale". That's all, for those that's confused by the Muslim cultures, this is some of the part and parcel for this particular month.
